October. November.

It's been awhile since we made an update so I figured I'd fill everyone in on what we've been up to. There's quite a bit going on actually, but I'll try to keep it succinct.

In September we headed back into the studio to record 4 new songs for an upcoming 7 inch. We've been playing a few of the songs at shows recently, and even threw one up on the myspace. I can honestly say that these songs in every way conceivable destroy anything we've previously written, recorded, or played. This record represents a fundamental shift for us; there was a conscious growth spurt that went into every aspect of these songs and we are so very proud of them. Details for how and when the 7 inch will be released are being sorted out as we speak, but I would imagine it will be a few months before we have anything solid worked out. Believe me when I say it is worth the wait.

Shortly thereafter we went on our first tour proper; our local friends in Red Son joined for us for a 10 day West Coat tour that took us up to Seattle, WA and back. We picked up Ill Intent in Seattle and raged with them all the way back down the coast. The experience was incredible to say the least; the graciousness, support, and love we felt from complete strangers and close friends alike was humbling. It really gives a whole new meaning to the word "scene." I think a lot of us throw that word around without truly understanding what it means to be a part of a community of like-minded individuals with common values, morals, and beliefs - to actively contribute to the continuation of a counter-culture which has its roots in the understood reality that in a world where we are outcasts, we must take care of our own. Being on the road and having total strangers book you a show, offer you a place to crash, or even a hot meal really drives home the point that we are still a vibrant and close-knit community - even if we don't all know each other personally. For me that was the most incredible experience of the whole tour; it was eye-opening, reaffirming, and really just awesome. All of that aside, the tour was a great success. The only major setback we had was the van dying on the way home to our last show in Tucson. By the time we finally got it towed back into Phoenix from Blythe,CA and tried to regroup and take another van, we realized the backup van had a flat tire and we had to cancel our last show that night in Tucson. We were bummed, but as promised, are making it up by playing down there Dec. 2nd with our friends in Gravemaker. One final note: an enormous THANK YOU to everyone who made this tour possible for us. We appreciate it beyond belief. <3

We printed some new merch for this tour and there is still some left. Among the new items are hoodies, re-designed tree shirts, and two colors of a completely new shirt. All of them will be available at our upcoming shows:

Another facet that will be present at all our upcoming shows will be the charity box. Along with the support of other local bands and individuals, this box will be waiting for any unwanted clothing, books, or non-perishable food items you can afford to get rid of. Around Christmas, we will re-distribute these items to local 14-20 year old who are in dire need of help. We unveiled the box at the Have Heart show last week and it was an overwhelming success. We ended up having to have 3 boxes to fit everything, so thank you so much to everyone who participated! If you didn't get a chance to get your things together, fret not - the box will be at all of these shows:
